Making Work Happen Online Toolkits: This website, sponsored by the Northeast ADA Center, Employment and Disability Institute, and Cornell University's ILR School, offers three free, interactive online resources. Each toolkit is divided into chapters that discuss specific topics, provide links to related resources, offer knowledge checks for understanding each topic, and provide links to "print and go" checklists that summarize key points relevant to each topic. - Employers' Online Tutorial consists of seven chapters specific to employers covering the following topics: 1) general information on Veterans with disabilities and employment; 2) laws that apply to Veterans with disabilities in employment; 3) respectful interactions with Veterans with disabilities; 4) recruiting Veterans with disabilities; 5) hiring Veterans with disabilities; 6) accommodating Veterans with disabilities; and 7) organizational strategies for creating a inclusive work environment for Veterans with disabilities.
- The Disability Service Providers Toolkit consists of seven chapters specific to service providers on the following topics: 1) general information on Veterans with disabilities and employment – why this, why now; 2) laws that apply to Veterans with disabilities; 3) showing respect for Veterans with disabilities; 4) connecting veterans with employers; 5) the disclosure decision; 6) accommodations; and 7) an overview of supports, resources and benefits.
The Veterans Toolkit is designed as a resource for Veterans with disabilities who are seeking to enter the workforce. It consists of seven chapters addressing the following topics: 1) myths; 2) telling about a disability; 3) deciding what's right for you; 4) finding job opportunities; 5) asking for an accommodation; 6) thinking through accommodation options; and 7) reaching out for support.
